What is preliminary cost advice?

This type of assessment will give a high level indicative budget for a project-based on brief information prior to engaging in any major design or specification work. You should note this assessment will only give a basic indication, and you should not rely on this being the actual costs for works, which will always be subject to the design detail, any building related or project constraints, and of course what a contractor would actually charge for carrying out the works which relies on many market-driven factors.

What is a cost consultant in construction?

Traditionally in the construction industry most cost consultants are quantity surveyors. They are responsible for the very exacting processes of appraisal, planning, tendering, analysis and final accounting of project cost.
